How to get tattoos?

Before you begin the story of how a tattoo is made, let’s clarify what the tattoo itself is. At its core, a tattoo is an image (drawing, ornament, inscription) applied to the surface of the body by piercing the upper layer of the dermis with the introduction of the corresponding pigment into the resulting hole. After the final healing of the injured area of the skin, a persistent and constant wearable image remains.

But before the final image appears on the body, several stages must go through, of which the whole process of tattooing consists. Let’s look at each of them in more detail.

Select a picture and a section on the body under it

The most important tasks for a person who plans to decorate his body with a tattoo are:

  • Select a picture, caption, or other image.
  • Decide in which place the tattoo will be stuffed.

It should be understood that these two actions are inseparable and directly dependent on each other.

Having decided on the sketch of the drawing, most people try to achieve a certain goal. The image can be with an internal (hidden) meaning, or be a beautiful, stylish ornament. As a rule, a tattoo carries something personal, but can act as a manifesto aimed at others.

Interesting: If we talk about places on the body, then tattoos are beaten almost everywhere. But from the point of view of the loyalty of public opinion, experts do not recommend using the head and neck, hands, inguinal zone.

Tattoo master

Depending on the chosen image style, it is determined which particular artist will take up the process of creating a tattoo. Real professionals are masters of their craft in one or two (extremely rare in three) styles of tattooing. This fact is explained very simply. The work of a tattoo master is practically no different from the work of a sculptor or artist – a talented cubist painter is unlikely to paint a landscape picture and vice versa.

Interesting: To perform a drawing in the Polynesian style, you should not contact a specialist working in the “Watercolor” style. In addition to the fact that they use different techniques, colorants (pigments) that are different in composition, color and properties are also used. This applies to different directions of the tattoo.

Color tattoo or black and white – this decision is made depending on the chosen style of drawing, as well as on the wishes of the customer. Accordingly, it is recommended to fill the image with the master who specializes in black and white tattoo technique, or in color.

Preparatory work

When the drawing and the place of its packing are mutually agreed upon, the master proceeds directly to the work itself. The drawings are adjusted, the lines are adjusted to the actual state of the body, because the sketch looks a bit different than the pattern on the skin with its pores, bends, relief depressions and bulges. The resulting sketch is applied to the surface of the skin using special paper.

Mandatory activities before applying a tattoo:

  • The customer (client) is responsible for his health, especially for the normal state of the blood. Should not take drugs, drugs that affect blood thinning, preventing its coagulation. We are talking about antipyretic and painkillers (analgin, paracetamol, aspirin, etc.). Do not get a tattoo while intoxicated.
  • The tattoo master is responsible for the sterility of the work performed, including the workplace, tools, supplies. The hands of the master must be in gloves, disposable needles are printed in the presence of the client, the skin and the tool must be treated with an antiseptic.

How to get a tattoo

Almost all tattoo artists use special rotary machines that operate as follows:

  • A sharp needle is attached to the moving part of the mechanism.
  • When you turn on the machine, the needle makes translational movements, piercing the skin to a certain depth.

Consider the process in more detail. The tool prepared for work is turned on and brought to the place on the body where the sketch is applied. The needle or needles (if there are several) are impregnated in a coloring composition that penetrates through the punctured hole into the dermis. Pigment in a metered volume remains under the skin. The piercing procedure is carried out a thousand times, it is with this frequency that the rotary machine works. The master leads the corner strictly along the lines of the drawing applied to the client’s body.

First of all, a contour is stuffed with a thin needle. Further, smaller details are clogged, as well as shadows or colors. To increase the thickness of the clog line, several needles are placed in a row.

Complex and multi-color drawings are packed in several sessions. In time, this can take several weeks or even months. This is done so that the skin can recover a little.

Healing stage

Upon completion of the pattern, it is necessary to properly care for the injured area of the skin. The client receives all recommendations on leaving from the master. The healing process in the early days can be quite painful. The healing and normalization of the treated skin is individual. It depends on the complexity of the pattern and the thickness of the lines, on the condition of the skin, the thickness of the fat layer at the place of tattooing and other factors.
